Dressing to hide your midsection …

Dressing to hide your midsection … - PinkOrchidFashion

There are many reasons why someone would like to dress to hide or minimize their mid section. You may have just had a baby or may have gone through some body changes due weight gain or due to hormones or as a part of aging. If you're looking to hide or minimize your midsection, there are a few clothing tips and tricks you can try:

*Wear high-waisted bottoms: Opt for skirts, pants, or jeans with a higher waistline that sits above your natural waist. This can help create the illusion of a smaller midsection by elongating your lower body and drawing attention away from your midsection.

*Choose tops with strategic details: Look for tops that have ruching, draping, or other details around the midsection. These design elements can help to camouflage any areas you want to hide.
Consider peplum tops or dresses: Peplum-style tops and dresses have a flared or ruffled section at the waistline, which can help create the appearance of an hourglass figure while minimizing focus on the midsection.

*Wear midi or maxi dress. Long flowy dresses may be your belly’s new BFF. The whole point here is total camouflage with a major bohemian/romantic twist, and it’s best for those with a fashionista attitude. Ignore belted versions and head for looser styles with a horizontal seam hovering at above (as in empire) or just below the waist. No worries, this is a design detail not meant to show your actual waist. Opt for trendy details in color, print and sleeves to make these dresses an intentional “look” rather than an excuse. “Never complain or explain” is a smart fashion motto.

*Layer with structured outerwear: Wearing structured jackets or blazers can help provide a more streamlined look by creating vertical lines and adding structure to your silhouette.

*Opt for darker colors and vertical patterns: Darker colors, such as black or navy, can create a slimming effect. Vertical patterns or stripes can also elongate your body and draw the eye away from the midsection.

*Use shapewear: If you're comfortable wearing shapewear, it can help smooth out any areas you want to conceal and provide a more streamlined appearance.

Remember, these suggestions are about personal style and feeling confident in your own body. Embrace your unique shape and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful.
